“So be careful to do what the Lord your God has commanded you; do not turn aside to the right or to the left. Walk in obedience to all that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess.” Deuteronomy 5:32-33, NIV

It’s a busy time of year, so I will keep our chat brief!

I am giddy every time we approach January 1st as I pray for God to provide a renewed spirit in me and a fresh vision for what He has in store next. He is always up to something and I love it when He lets me in on a little glimpse of what is yet to come (see 1 Corinthians 13:12 KJV)! I find that preparing and posturing myself for moments of solitude quiets the clutter in my mind so that I can hear from Him more clearly.

My favorite way to do this is by waking up before our children, going on a brisk walk to get blood flowing to my brain, then sipping my homemade iced coffee, Bible and pen and journal beside me, and praying to ask God to reveal Himself clearly and empower me to hear His voice so that I can truly apply these verses of Scripture found in Deuteronomy.

Are you also willing to pause for a couple minutes this week to reflect and consider what the LORD your God has commanded you to do this year?

Will you step back from your day-to-day responsibilities to evaluate if you have turned aside to the right or the left?

As we wrap up the year and look ahead, what would it look like to walk in obedience to ALL that the LORD your God has commanded you?

This comes with a promise! “that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess.”

I want that for each of us!

In addition to these aforementioned questions, here is a printable with five more questions to encourage you to finish strong this year! As always, the hope is to provide you with resources to prompt your own practical chats for intentional living! And if you are more of an auditory learner, make sure you check out The Savvy Sauce: Practical Chats for Intentional Living.

I will see you back here on January 1st. If you haven’t yet joined our email list, make sure you do so now and you won’t miss these upcoming brief messages of encouragement.

Merry Christmas and blessings to you as you close out 2023!

Much Love,

Laura
