Questions as Catalysts for Transformation
Hi Friend,
I don’t have much to say today, but I do have some questions I want to share with you! I love sharing questions because I believe they can be the catalyst for transformation.
Mark asked me a question that changed our life: Will you marry me?
Our potluck group asked a question that gave me courage to follow through on starting The Savvy Sauce podcast: What is one thing you would do, if you knew you would not fail?
God’s Word prompts application questions in me almost daily. Recently, it led to the question: What do I want to ask Him for?
This recent question was a result of reading John 15:12,16-17 (AMP).
“This is My commandment, that you love and unselfishly seek the best for one another, just as I have loved you. . . You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you and I have appointed and placed and purposefully planted you, so that you would go and bear fruit and keep on bearing, and that your fruit will remain and be lasting, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name [as My representative] He may give to you. This [is what] I command you: that you love and unselfishly seek the best for one another.”
The part that says, “whatever you ask of the Father in My name [as My representative] He may give to you.” made me consider: what do I want to ask Him for?
This question led me to create a wish list to surrender to the Lord. In writing out my wish list, I had clarity on what wishes were actually from Him. It also deepened our intimacy and I shared with Him my heart’s desire, rather than keeping it to myself, and it encouraged me to pursue the ideas He had sparked as an act of obedience to Him.
Have you paused recently to consider what is He asking of you? What are you asking of Him?
Jada Edwards is a powerful woman in ministry and on her recent episode, Knowing God, Self, and Others with Jada Edwards, she talked about the importance of taking care of ourselves. This list of questions I want to share with you will help you get back to the basics of soul care, because when your soul is cared for, you can love others and God better.
I pray these questions bear lasting fruit in your life! They will also remind you of super practical habits to set in place. We can build upon this foundation, once we get the basics taken care of.
Circling back to the Scripture that prompted me to make a wish list and surrender it to the Lord, the purpose of this passage is found in John 15:11 (AMP),
I have told you these things so that My joy and delight may be in you, and that your joy may be made full and complete and overflowing.
Let’s share joy today, and in so doing, glorify our Lord!
Amen.
Much love,
Laura
